STARRUPTURE FIELD NOTES

StarRupture: Plan Materials Around the Inventory You Already Have

Turn a finite crafting goal into a practical remaining-materials list without counting the same stock twice.

Worked StarRupture example: 10 Rotor with parts in storage

Plan Rotor twice: first without stock, then with 4 Titanium Rod already available. The second plan needs 10 rods in total, consumes 4 stored rods, and produces only the remaining 6. Their upstream raw materials are reduced before the gathering list is calculated.

Calculated from Update 2 · Quality of Life, retrieved 2026-10-30, using the first included default recipe for every output. Examples use the pinned Update 2 default recipes. Update 3 Public Test Branch switches for building, crafting and unlocking costs are not modeled; corporation-difficulty percentages are not material-cost multipliers. Next: combine Rotor and Stator without subtracting shared stock twice.

Start with a bounded goal

Choose the finished items and quantities you want for this session. Keep the target small enough to check against your current progress. A finite shopping list answers what you still need to gather; a production-rate planner answers a different question about continuous output. Check the data version before using either, especially after a game update.

Subtract stock before expanding dependencies

Enter usable finished items, intermediate components, and raw resources separately. Existing components should reduce the amount that needs crafting before the remaining demand expands into ingredients. Count each shared stock balance once across the whole plan. If several targets use the same material, review their combined requirement rather than subtracting your inventory independently from every branch.

Treat the result as a planning estimate

The imported recipes describe input and output rates. Their ratios support theoretical material estimates, but do not establish the exact size of a crafting batch. Keep fractional estimates visible until you choose a practical gathering allowance. Confirm the selected recipe and available machine in the game, then update the inventory list when supplies move or your target changes.

Count finished parts before re-making their ingredients

Use the total finished-item goal as the target and enter finished items already owned as inventory. Do not first reduce the target by those finished items and then enter them again: that would deduct the same completion twice. The Rotor top-up and Electronics buffer cases show the original goal, finished stock used, and the smaller quantity left to produce.

Try the stock check in the planner

Start from the no-stock copy linked in the case, then reproduce its listed inventory. Use supplies actually available for this run; stock promised to another plan is not available to deduct here.

  1. Export the plan currently saved in this browser before opening either example copy.
  2. Open the case comparison and choose Edit the no-stock plan. Keep its total target unchanged.
  3. Expand Already have crafted parts? and add the finished target and intermediate items from the case inventory table.
  4. Enter each raw resource balance once on its gathering row. The same balance covers all branches in this one plan.
  5. Read Production steps to see what still needs making, then compare the gathering list with the case’s stocked copy.
  6. After a delivery or crafting step, update the inventory to the usable stock you now have and recalculate; a checked progress box is not an inventory movement.

A shorter raw list can be the correct result

A stored intermediate can replace a whole upstream branch. Some terminal resources may fall to zero or no longer appear in the production expansion. Check the starting inventory and the remaining production steps before treating a shorter gathering list as a missing recipe. The side-by-side case table keeps the original no-stock resources visible, including a zero stocked remainder.

Try the complete inventory workflow

These runs include partially completed targets, intermediate components and raw resources. Keep the total target unchanged when opening the stocked copy; the finished inventory is already included.

Rebuild a 12-Electronics buffer

Combine finished Electronics, usable Stator and Synthetic Silicon, and raw stock in one remaining-materials budget.
